Imation Receives Top Honors for Retail Excellence At Fall 2001 RetailVision

OAKDALE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 26, 2001--Imation Corp. (NYSE:IMN), a worldwide leader in data storage and information management, today announced it received the prestigious "Best Retail Strategy" award at RetailVision(R) Fall 2001, September 4-7, at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Imation also was nominated for five additional "Best of RetailVision" awards recognizing outstanding successes in the retail channel. RetailVision is a business-focused channel event produced by Vision Events(R), a Gartner, Inc. (NYSE:IT and ITB) company.

While presenting this award, officials recognized Imation's use of technology innovation and leadership in multi-channel retail strategies. Winning companies were voted on by more than 200 retail-buying executives after previewing, reviewing and learning about new technologies, products and merchandising programs in private boardroom appointments. For the past 12 years, the "Best of RetailVision Awards" have been acknowledged as the computer retail channel's leading honors.

This award comes on the heels of two channel-specific awards Imation received earlier this year in recognition of its recent successes in both the retail and e-tail sales channel. Imation received the "International Vendor of the Year" award presented by Office Depot at the Office Depot 2001 International Sales Meeting and Vendor Show, Feb. 23-25 in Nashville, Tenn. During the e-tailVision(TM) event in Coronado Island, Calif., Feb. 11-13, Imation received the "Best of e-tailVision" award in the category of Best Vendor Presentation.

"This is an exciting time for Imation," said Steve Carter, vice president and general manager, Imation's Personal Storage Solutions Business. "Receiving recognition at not just one but three major industry events this year supports Imation's commitment in excellence to our worldwide channel partners and our continued dedication to provide high-quality, innovative products and solutions to our customers."
